Claire MacWilliams has extensive experience with the dynamics of abusive relationships, having been involved in two marriages with verbal and emotional abusers. While seeking to facilitate her own recovery from the second abusive relationship, she noticed that most literature focuses on defining and recognizing abuse, not necessarily on putting one's self and life back together afterwards. Basing her approach on the work of life coach Martha Beck, she shares practical, immediate insights and strategies for recovery.
